David Moody

G'day,

I've been living here in Phuket for over six years now. I started working in QSI Phuket as a P.E. teacher at the beginning of the 2006/07 school year, which I did for a little over 3 years. At Christmas 2009 my position changed to Computer Teacher / Technician. I have been trained in I.T. at TAFE college in Australia in 1999/2000, and I am continuing my studies in Technology.

Regards

Dave.

I am a graduate of the University of California Los Angels.  I have a Masters degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University and have been teaching PE and Coaching for the past 15 years.  I spent 5 years teaching in the PE department and coaching Soccer at the Community College level in the US.

I spent 10 years at the junior high and high school levels, teaching PE and coaching Soccer with much success, but realized that the true impact and development, in terms of motor skill movement and muscle memory, occurs at the elementary level.

This led me to QSI Phuket!  I am excited to be in Thailand teaching Physical Education, Health, Fitness, and heading up the after school sports programs.  I am very happy to be teaching and coaching these amazing International school students and working with an awesome faculty team.  Go Tigers!!

Hello. My name is Marivic Maxwell and I am the school librarian.

I hold a Bachelor degree in Computer Science. I am responsible for compiling and maintaining the library catalogue, and teaching the library curriculum to the pre-K and elementary students. I also assist the older students and teachers to find library resources for their projects.

My husband, Andrew, and I really enjoy working at QSI and living in Phuket. This is our 7th year at QSI and our 9th year living in Phuket. The kids are a pleasure to teach and the staff is friendly and easy to work with.

Hello, I''m K.Noi.

Before coming to QSI, I worked at a government school teaching art and music for 15 years.  16 years ago I started teaching at Phuket International School, which joined QSI in 1995, I have taught almost everything since then.  Now I am teaching art, music, and physical education.

This year the art students will do a lot of drawing, painting, batik-making, pottery, weaving, candle-making, flower bouquet-making, jewelry, and other crafts.  The music students will practice xylophones, recorders, melodeons, drums, guitars, and a piano.  There is also a school band that Mr. Jack is helping with.  The physical education students will stretch, run, jump, and play.  I love the students SOOOOO much!

The school has 7 success orientations.  They are: kindness and politeness, responsibility, independent endeavor, group interaction, aesthetic appreciation, concern for others, and trustworthiness.  In my heart, all of the students, teachers, and parents will follow these.

If you need help, come to me in the art classroom anytime, whatever your story is.

Hello. สวัสดี. Merhaba. Здравствуйте. 안녕하십니가. Goden Dag. नमस्ते. 你好. Goededag. nuqneH!

My name is Andrew Maxwell. If you recognise one of the words above, that means I teach at least one other person who speaks the same language that you speak… except the last one. I don’t think anyone I teach speaks Klingon!

I have been teaching at QSI for the last eight years. I have taught quite a few different subjects while I’ve been here, but this year, I’m teaching Intensive English, Media (Journalism) and Genre Studies. I also have an EFL Conversation Class for Parents as part of the new Parent University program, which I’m really excited about.

I hold a Masters in Applied Linguistics with a specialisation in TESOL from the University of Newcastle in Australia. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies. I take a holistic approach to language in my teaching because I believe that proficiency in a second language (L2) is developed by identifying it within the context of the learner’s first language (L1).
